Vintage Wollensak Model 5740 Stereo Reel to Reel Tape Recorder I know very little about these. Looks to have all the original wires and power cord. I picked up 2 small Reels to test it. The unit plays and everything looks to be functioning. Fast forward, Rewind, Play and the counter. I didn't know how to test Record. When it plays it sounds like it is playing 2 different tracks at once. Speaker on one side plays and the other side sounds like it is playing something different backwards, so I flipped the reels and the sound switched. The backwards side played the other side sounded backwards. Not sure if it needs adjusted or if the tape I got had 2 different recordings on it. It may need some cleaning or adjustment, not sure. Some of the corners show some wear. Over all it looks pretty good for it's age. BECAUSE OF IT"S AGE AND IT MAY NEED ADJUSTMENT I AM SELLING THIS AS IS FOR PARTS OR REPAIR.
