This item was tested and works
Some tracks were already recorded onto the hard drive and:
during playback there was some stuttering or skipping, behaved erratically but was beginning to settle after use
Cannot guarantee that the hard drive is fully functional - a new larger 80 GB (IDE) hard drive would expand recording time immensely
Hard drive did make some spin noise audible to the ear
Sound quality was very good
