This unit does play but it will need some speaker/knob spray as the volume knob crackles in and out
I do not have a mic to try to record anything the tape has some lady singing on it
the battery compartment is in good overall condition but the cushion for the D batteries is starting to erode
overall fair condition with power cord
When you click to rewind the wheel moves but the tape does not move perhaps because the tape is older
