UFO - Mechanix LP/Vinyl Record/1982/Chrysalis/CHR 1360EXCELLENT On UFO's 10th studio release "Mechanix", (1982), Phil Mogg, Andy Parker, Pete Way, Paul Chapman and Neil Carter put together their last great album. Produced by Gary Lyons (who produced the first Foreigner album), he gave the band some great sounds here. Phil Mogg just sounded so confident. Yhis would also be bassist Pete way's last album with UFO, before heading off to Fastway (which he never played in), but he did start Waysted. Paul Chapman gave us some more memorable riffs on this release. I bought this one in the summer of '82 and haven't looked back after 31 years. You get stunning rockers in, "The Writer", "We Belong To The Night", "Feel It" and the Eddie Cochane nugget "Somethin' Else", which was a hit in England, Neil Carter's sax works well on this track. Mid-tempo rockers in, "Let it Rain", "Back Into My Life", "You'll Get Love", "Doing It All For You" and "Dreaming" and the great power ballad "Terri". Bonus tracks include the B-side of "Let It Rain", "Hell Of A Stranger", which was probably left off due to time restraints. And you also get 3 live numbers "We Belong To The Night", "Let It Rain" and "Doing It All For You". After Pete Left the band, they made the surprising excellent "Makin' Contact". 1The Writer2Somethin Else3Back Into My Life4You'll Get Love5Doing It All for You6We Belong to the Night7Let It Rain8Terri9Feel It10Dreaming11Heel of a Stranger (B-Side)12We Belong to the Night (Live)13Let It Rain (Live)14Doing It All for You (Live Sound Check)
