TOSHIBA Solid State Radio Phonograph GP-41 Portable Record Player - Working Condition.
This model is styled after the Barrington portable record player used in the Wes Anderson movie Moonrise Kingdom.
It is almost the exact the same stylings, same size, same controls.
Volume control with power on/off.
Selector for Radio or 33/45 speed.
Tuning knob (AM only).
This is a very cool and very rare model.
Tested and found to be in good working condition. See short video in this listing.
NOTE: this was likely manufactured for the intent to be used to play children's records, so a HIFI unit it is not. The speed sounds correct for both 33 and 45 records. Includes the star shaped 45 adaptor.
It plays records and sounds good, for what it is, but I personally would not play my record on this for very long. The headshell feels quite heavy. It includes a cartridge and needle, don't know the make. Will likely need a new needle as the one included tends to skip once in a while even on a clean record.
Radio also works well. Picks up stations easily.
Volume control is smooth and without noise.
Platter includes a foam mat that has some tears.
It is a very clean unit but please note there is a small crack to the bottom red portion. See close-up picture in this listing. It is right under the front handle area.
This works on both battery and AC power. I only tested this with included/attached AC cord. Battery compartment is clean.
