This is truly a one of a kind vinyl! I purchased this online over 15 years ago from a radio station selling it for charity. It claimed that someone from TOOL (band or other) brought this into the station around the time of the release of Lateralus (guessing 2000-2002). It had been sitting for a couple years at the station since. I have a large TOOL and APC record collection and had never seen this vinyl anywhere else so I had to have it. This has the same track listing as the Lateralus picture disc promo, which means this would have been an early non-picture version of that promo. However, this record is not done being different. There are no matrix numbers on the disc, and no markings on the label or sleeve. I have had this record in my collection since 2006 or 2007 having never played it until recently and was blown away by the audio I was hearing. I have been a TOOL fan since the 90s and have heard these songs on vinyl, CD, minidisc, and tape thousands of times before. It appears be an alternate mixing before the commercial album release. It's the same songs but, guitars and percussions are clear and up front, vocals are not overwhelmingly front and center. I assume based on the age of the record that this is a rare prerelease mix. After hearing this, the commercial release CD and vinyl versions sound muddy and lacking range. There is a lot that you can't hear in the commercial release. I have digitally recorded the record and compared it several times and it is better, clearer audio, no question. I have posted a wave graph image comparing the visual sound waves from the listed item and the CD version. Even without hearing it you can see the difference in the range and clarity. Both audio sources were recorded direct to digital to lossless FLAC 24bit format with no filters or effects of any kind! This was the original raw audio. Any questions just ask.
