Speaking in Tongues is the fifth studio album by the American rock band Talking Heads , released in 1983. After the band's split with producer Brian Eno and a brief split that allowed the individual members to start new side projects, the Recording began in 1982. It became the band's first commercial album and produced the band's first (and only) US Top 10 hit, " Burning Down the Hous e", which was accompanied by a promotional video. Touring for the album was documented in Jonathan Demme's film Stop Making Sense, which spawned a live album of the same name. (The concert film and live album title come from the repeated phrase "Stop Making Sense!" in the song "Girlfriend Is Better".) Additionally, the album went on to the dance charts where it reached number two during six weeks. This album was also the band's highest-charting album on the Billboard 200. A deluxe edition of this album was issued in 2022 featuring a Colored "BLUE" 180 Gram Vinyl Edition and a unique Booklet with a fantastic 12-page containing the history behind the album and amazing photos (booklet is in Spanish).
