This is a Sony TCD-D8 RDAT recorder/player with I/O adapter and power supply. I recentlu bought this from another seller who said they did not have a tape to test it. I was able to test i and it powers up and a tape will load in and eject perfectly but will not play. The caution sign on the display panel means the tape transport needs cleaned due to a frozen/sluggish lubricant issue. The instructions on how to do this are here-
I found the power supply to my Tascam RDAT machine the day after purchasing this so I do not wish to spend the time cleaning and re-lubricating this machine.
Also included will be a 3M R15 Digital audio tape with with a few lovely tunes from the Barnaby Cadence label so you can test it after cleaning.
