I pulled this Handycam out of my parent’s storage, cleaned it up, and tested it. The camera powers up fine, loads and ejects a tape, and the record function APPEARS to be working properly. However, I cannot get the tape to play back. I only had one blank tape handy, so I just tested it with that one.
That being said, I am not entirely sure I am using it properly, so this could be user error. Or it could be an issue with the camera, or with the tape I was using.
