I played both VCR & DVD by playing a couple of movies on my TV with no issues. I have no blank media so I can't test the record modes. In tha sense this unit is being sold AS-IS in regards to the record modes (which I can only assume work considering the good condition this is in). See photos for any cosmetic scuffs or scratches.
