Redd Holt. "It's A Take!" New release red vinyl LP with digital

Jazz drummer Redd Holt's first LP since Isaac, Isaac, Isaac in 1974. Redd was the drummer with the Ramsey Lewis Trio and won a Grammy in 1965 for the hit "The In Crowd". He and bassist Eldee Young formed Young-Holt Unlimited and had two gold singles. One in 1966 with "Wack Wack" and the second in 1969 with "Soulful Strut." He was 85 years of age when we recorded the two sessions in 2018 The album is named It's A Take! because there was no rehearsal, no second tries, no sheet music and planning of what would be performed. Only 17 year old Shannon O'Neil had sheet music for her trumpet part in Killer Joe. All analog from the tape to the pressing plate. Done like it was done in 1974 including liner notes explaining the session. Red vinyl was a must! A digital download code comes with each LP. With the digital download, there is a never before heard live track of the 1971 performance of Soulful Strut at the East End Hotel in Cleveland, Ohio found on a tape in Redd's basement. When you play this album, play A side and then the B side as the order of the songs was picked by Redd for an awesome flow.  Redd Holt drums, Ken Haebich Bass and Jim Ryan acoustic piano, electric piano and Fender Rhodes piano.
