It has been recently set up for optimal playability and delivers that resonant, crisp D18 tone you are seeking. And the stock bridge pins were upgraded to Martin Ebony pins for better sustain and clearer tone. Included (as pictured) is a luxuriously padded Guitar Transit Series acoustic gig bag. In the spirit of full disclosure, there are two items to note (both covered in the photos for the guitar): The ebony fingerboard has some natural striping (visible in the photos) that adds character but has no impact on playing There is a tiny "ding" near the spot where the top meets the lower bout, below the binding, that again is barely visible but shown in the photo for your review. It has now effect on tone or playability. It's finished in a thin coat of nitrocellulose lacquer for resonance and historical accuracy. The RD-316's aesthetics have been heavily influenced by the standard workhorse dreadnought guitarists have relied on for the past 80 years. The tasteful appointments include descending sized dots on the fretboard, solid black bridge pins and endpin, subdued tortoise body binding and a traditional, understated rosette.
