RARE VINTAGE | 1970’s Sony TC-353 Portable Reel To Reel Recorder.
The Model 353 is on the higher end of Sony's 1970's portable decks featuring their "Sound on Sound/Echo" feature!
This was the lightweight version that allows the lid to be swapped out with optional external speakers. A 4-track 2-channel, stereo/monaural recorder with dual VU meters, dual slider volume, separate input level controls and bass & treble adjustments. This unit requires an external amp, or external speakers that are connected through the 3.5mm phono jacks on the side panel. Other features of the model 353 are:
7-inch reel capacity, 3-speed operation, Tape counter, Speaker On/Off switch and retractable Pinch roller for easiest tape threading.
This item is untested! The recorder looks to be in good condition. There are some rips on the bottom of the case as show in the pictures and the cover for the tape recorder mechanicals is missing.
