Rare Fehr Bass Recorder 'Rosewood' Concert Quality, Key of F, fantastic Sound and Range . This concert quality instrument is in fantastic condition, and is easier to play than my Tenor as far a stretching out your finger to reach the holes. You have to know how to train your breathing, I found this beauty at a shop and instantly fell in love with the Rosewood build (as a wood worker Rosewood is an endangered specie and can not be imported into the US any longer,) After I bought it started my search to find the company and to secure a case for because it did not come with one. The Company was originally in Switzerland and later moved to Germany. I found them and email them to find out if they had a case, all I got was Crickets twice, so then I thought to use google translate. I translate my email into German and immediately got a response. We corresponded, sent pictures and pictures of the Logo on the Recorder, trying to figure out how old it was and what the value would be. And here is what I found out. Fehr longer makes Bass Recorders, that craftsmen has past way and his legacy with him, and then the Logo on the recorder they have not used for quite some time. Having two Logo changes sense then. They said 'it is very old', probably made by Mister Fehr himself. SO we have a rare, old, like new bass recorder, made of an endangered specie, discontinued. Wow U.S. Sales only because of the Rosewood band on import or export. it is about a meter long. Rosewood is prized as a tonewood , responsible for a characteristic
resonant tone in everything from guitars and cellos to clarinets and recorders.
Following the 2017 restrictions, the musical instruments industry lost
tens of millions of dollars in sales, and traveling orchestras feared
their instruments would be seized at international borders.
