Pre-War Blues 78 RPM Robert Wilkins Victor 21741 Rolling Stone Parts 1 and 2 V+. Up for auction: extremely rare 78 rpm "Rolling Stone Parts 1 & 2" by Robert Wilkins recorded in Memphis in September 1928. His first and most iconic recording. Both sides of the record visually grade at a strong V+ and it retains most of its original gloss. Very light surface hairline marks as shown in photos which is to be expected. Spindle hole is still very tight and unmarked and probably has not seen many plays. No warps, chips or cracks. Record will be safely and securely packed using the floating cardboard method. "The record has been stored unplayed since I first acquired it in the early 1980s. So it has not been played in almost 40 years and probably not many times before that, judging by the looks of it. I am not an expert in pre-war blues 78s but I have consulted several experts who are, so I am aware of the rarity of this record and its value, especially in this remarkable condition." Local pickup available. Shipping will cost about $60.00-$70.00 with extra insurance and double boxing.
