1971 Winnie the Pooh CHATTER BOX in Original Box with record player, set of four records and read-along stories booklet. VERY HARD TO FIND. This is a NON-WORKING record player... unfortunately very common with this style of Mattel player. (Records can be played in other Mattel record players such as Instant Replay, Talking Football and Preschool Talking Schoolhouse.) The record player is very clean including the battery compartment. The vinyl cover is clean except for some soiling around the speaker holes on the back of the cover. There are some splits in the vinyl at the top back of the cover. See Picture #6 for vinyl cover flaws. All four records have surface scratches but played perfectly in my working player. Each record has an image of one of the Winnie the Pooh characters molded directly into the plastic on each side - Winnie the Pooh/Piglet, Eeyore/Tigger, Christopher Robin/Rabbit and Gopher/Owl. The Gopher/Owl record has some dark brown spots on each side that isopropyl alcohol couldn't remove. The box is in rough condition. The box cover has a split and paper tear along the top left corner/side front to back. The inside of the box cover and bottom have what appears to be battery acid staining as does the booklet. There is also some cardboard loss inside the top of the box bottom. Please see pictures as I tried to get show images of the details including the box, player, vinyl cover, records and booklet. I have done my best to describe these items accurately. This set is complete except for the various paperwork that Mattel included with their toys - Warranty Registration Card, Parts Order Form, miscellaneous toy catalogs, etc.... Overall the player displays nicely and the records play well ( in a working player, NOT IN THIS PLAYER ). The box and booklet are on the rough side and nowhere near brand new. I would consider this to be a gap-filler for your collection but definitely worth having because the set doesn't come up for sale very often. It has a lot of defects and is being clearly represented as such. I don't want anyone to say that this is misrepresented or being described as nicer than it actually is. I like to know what I'm purchasing and I just want you to be absolutely clear about what you are purchasing as well. This was not very popular in the United States compared to other Mattel record player toys. This is a great display/activity item for a Winnie the Pooh collector. U.S. BUYERS ONLY. Will ship securely packaged in a box via USPS Priority Mail. Buy with confidence. Please see my "Feedback as a Seller" and DSR's. Thank you for taking the time to read this long description!
