Produced in 1986 by Small World Records in Huntsville, Alabama. I can't find another copy online and can find very little information on this specific LP or group - except in the context of biographies listed below. Unfortunately, I am unable to listen to it to ascertain even what style of music it is. Based on a quote from the bio of David Anderson, bass guitar, I believe this is properly characterized as Jazz.
It is produced by Doug Jansen-Smith and "The Jungle". The tight shrink has kept the jacket in EXCELLENT CONDITION, with only light wear at jacket opening. Inner sleeve with notes is pristine condition, no splits. LP LOOKS GREAT WITH NO SCRATCHES SEEN ON CLEAN VINYL, will grade NM.
A bio on Doug Jansen-Smith from "Alabama Music Office" website: "Doug Jansen Smith established Sound Cell in 1980 in Huntsville, Alabama. Smith Music Group Inc. now provides the largest and most up-to-date recording complex in the area. Over the years, he has found success as a talent-developer, producer, songwriter, publisher, studio manager, engineer and even an audio-book abridger. Experienced in personal management, Doug has successfully guided many artists and writers. He signed Pierce Pettis to Windham Hill in 1988 and multi-Grammy nominee Brian McKnight to Polygram in 1989. 1996 brought Sound Cell Claire Lynch’s, Grammy nomination for Best Bluegrass album, vocals engineered and co-produced by Mr. Smith. Like Take 6 and Brian McKnight, David Anderson began recording at Sound Cell when he entered high school and by 1986 his first album, (co-produced and engineered by Doug), delivered Downbeat Magazine’s award for “Best Soloist”. After several east coast tours he returned to Sound Cell playing bass for Brian McKnight." Here is a Wikipedia entry on Ken Watters, identified as playing the flugelhorn. This Wikipedia entry notes "The Jungle" as the first entry in 1986 on the discography list: "Ken Watters is an American jazz trumpeter residing in Huntsville, Alabama. He is the brother of noted jazz trombonist, Harry Watters. Ken is a member of several noted performing groups, including Tabou Combo, [1], Natalie Cole Band, [2], the Magic City Jazz Orchestra, Ray Reach and Friends and the W. C. Handy Jazz All-Stars. He attended the University of North Texas, where he participated in the famed Lab Band program and studied trumpet with internationally renowned teacher Leonard Candelaria. Later, Ken pursued further trumpet studies in New York City with Lew Soloff and Wynton Marsalis." Here is a brief snippet of the bio on Jim Cavender, guitar player, also from "Alabama Music Office": "Jim Cavender spends a fair amount of time recording, whenever he has time off from gigs. In 2012, he produced The Crawling Chaos by Rolling Jazz Revue. He released three non-jazz singles by pleasPlease, “Blues Schnitzel”, a cover of James Brown's “Get Up (I Feel Like Being A Sex Machine)” and a cover of “Timothy” written by Rupert Holmes in March of 2013....Cavender has produced or co-produced albums in various genres since 1986 including The Jungle by The Jungle (jazz), It Creeps Up On You by Swine Cadillac (blues), Move To The City by Then Again (rock), Brothers by Ken and Harry Watters (jazz), The Snake Doctors by The Snake Doctors (rhythm and blues), Black Boots And A Suitcase by Joshua Black Wilkins (rockabilly) and Along The Anchorline by Skip Heller Trio (jazz)." FINALLY, this internet snippet on Bass Guitarist David Anderson came from an online article about father-son musicians Dave and Stone Anderson:
"In the first grade, Stone Anderson would get picked up from school by a dad with red spiky hair.
He thought it was beyond cool to have a father who was a professional musician.
And now more than 15 years later, Stone and his dad Dave Anderson, both Huntsville residents, represent two generations of Alabama working musicians...
...Of all the records Dave has been a part of, Stone is particularly fond of Huntsville fusion band The Jungle's 1986 self-titled LP (on which his dad played bass) and Brother Cane's 1998 swansong "Wishpool." He describes "The Jungle" album as "good tight and organic, like Weather Report." .."
