This is a KORG D1600 (D-1600) Multi-track / 16 track Digital Recording Studio. It works perfectly, and probably one of the finest listed here on Pricetronic in a long time.
Some background: I purchased this new some time in 2002. I used it off and on for approximately 40 hours, then put away in cool, dry storage for nearly 20 years. Around the same time just stopped making music (well, stopped recording it anyway), and wound up having a family. We are now making room for a remodel, and our space demands that this beauty find a new home. Obviously no reason to keep it thinking that it's something I'd return to some day (ha!) because... I just won't. I've kept an eye on them over the years wondering if they'd hold their value, or if folks would still care. Guess there's a bit of a scene. For a clean analogue to digital interface, it's pretty hard to beat this thing which was way ahead of it's time in the day. And come on you gotta love a jog wheel + a working touch screen interface!
Just to make sure it all worked fine, I recently fired it up and found old tracks still on it. Burned them to CD-R (nostalgia), and then wiped the drive. Everything seems to still work perfectly. My photos and video convey how well it's been kept. All original manuals, plus sample CD and a sealed (!) VHS tape. Really very nice. Sorry, but I ditched the box way back in the day.
Please ask any questions. Shipping is going to be a bit expensive (potentially), but I'm going to try and put a fair price in there just guesstimating at what it will take. Really love to put it in someone's hands in person, so if you're in Los Angeles area, happy to skip the shipping and meet for delivery.
