JOHNNY HORTON They Shined Up Rudolphs Nose 45 & PICTURE SLEEVE '59

This is the RARE ORIGINAL 1959 COLUMBIA RECORDS U.S. 7" 45 RPM RECORDS IN ITS ORIGINAL PICTURE SLEEVE containing the Christmas holiday tune titled 'They Shined Up Rudolph's Nose' backed with 'The Electrified Donkey' from 1950s country star Johnny Horton . It is Columbia Records U.S. catalog number 4-41522, styrene pressing, packaged in its original picture sleeve. Apparently this 45 is SUPER RARE due to having been pulled from the market due to a copyright conflict between Columbia Records and the song writer, and is especially rare to find with the picture sleeve, where most of the value of this piece resides. Condition of picture sleeve is conservatively a high VG / low VG+ with a 1" split in one side edge and a small 3/4" tear coming down from the top edge on one side of the sleeve as can be seen in my accompanying image.  Picture sleeve otherwise is in good shape with some very slight wrinkles and some wear right along the edges and on the corners.  Condition of record is conservatively a high G / low VG with the major flaw being play scratchiness and hiss, more on the B-side, from this styrene pressing having been played on a questionable stylus at some point during its life; as mentioned above the great majority of the rarity and value of this piece resides in the picture sleeve, the record appears to be considerably easier to find than the picture sleeve and could be replaced fairly easily if the buyer is so inclined. The asking price for this item has been determined through a survey of the few previously completed Pricetronic sales of this item with picture sleeve on the Popsike site.
