For sale is a Pioneer RT-1020L 10.5 inch 4 track Reel to Reel tape deck recorder. It is in gery gooe condition albeit with minor scuffs, marks as shown. Refer to pics. It has been tested, serviced, calibrated and the heads were cleaned and demagnetized for the best sound ever. It has a new drive belt installed a new pause lever , and new transistors. the tape counter is non functional due to a worn out wormgear, something  I DO NOT attempt to repair.  The mic inputs were tested and they work as well as the other inputs. The pots and switches were sprayed and the metal parts were lubed as well. Both channels are clear and superb sounding as well. All the functions work and the VU Meters jump like they are supposed to. The sound when recording at 3 3/4 IPS is very clear and better and wider sounding than the Source recording from, depending on the type of tape used and better at 7 1/2 IPS. You can use both 7 inch and 10 1/2 inch reels! The heads are also in very good shape which is obviously why the quality is awesome as well. You may purchase the hub adapters for $85, an empty metal reel for $35, or a QUANTEGY 3600 FT metal reel of tape for $100! As far as the asking price goes, I am More than willing to listen to reasonable offers, but at the same time, NOT looking to give this away for cheap! I do have plenty of less expensive alternative decks for sale on here and on Reverb and if you are on a budget, then you should purchase one of those models! For those who think the price might be a little too high, there is a saying I live by that goes “You Get What You Pay For”! Here, you are getting a deck that actually is cleaned, adjusted, rigorously tested, and ready to use out of the box. I am putting this out there in light of a bunch of people who add this to their watchlist or the shopping cart, but ultimately do not make the purchase (some do this to try to pressure me into reducing the price).So, If you’re looking for a deck that is ready to use and we’ll get any tape transfers or whatever recording job that you may have done, then you’ve come to the right place! The shipping price includes packing and insurance which protect myself, and the buyer in case something happens to the item in transit. Unfortunately, several of these decks have arrived in worse condition than they originally left here in (e.g. buyer did not pack the deck properly, or the deck was misused or tampered with) so accepting returns has become much too risky.
