Up for sale is this vintage Akai 4000DS Stereo Reel-to-Reel Tape Deck Recorder ideal to kick start your vintage audio passion. This a used unit and has been fully cleaned inside out. All potentiometers and switches where deoxidized and re-lubricated. All internal component boards properly cleaned/dusted. Unit was tested and is good on both Playback & Recording modes sustaining correct speed when using 30 minutes per side 1/4 inch tape. . Pause, Rewind and Fast Forward tested good, showing normal reel breaking when disengaged. Reconditioned Pinch Roller Rubber. Cleaned Capstan, Tape tensioner and Guides. Demagnetized entire tape path, cleaned and polished all three heads. RCA terminals were cleaned and polished to achieve the best audio connection avoiding any signal loss. Unit ships very clean and sanitized for your safety and convenience from a smoke-free, pet-free home. Overall cosmetic condition is good. There are normal signs of wear and small dents/scuffs around the case bezel edges and front panel. Please refer to pictures for details.
