(5) RANDOM JAZZ RECORDS
Thanks for stopping by! Looking to broaden your horizons, interested in jazz, but don't know where to start? Overwhelmed by all the different sub genres, sounds, artists and options? Jazz can be any and all things, sometimes all at once. Far from an experienced listener, or an aficionado, I too enjoy dabbling in the waters of Jazz, but have little to no genuine knowledge of the genre. Probably enough to start a conversation and then end up looking like a fool, but that's ok, I still love throwing a random LP on checking out something new, with little to no expectations. Whether while working, enjoying dinner, or reading a book, it's one of my favorite formats for background company.
Up for auction is a randomly selected group of Jazz oriented vinyl. The majority of the albums came from the same collection, and this particular gentleman was a Jazz Pianist himself, and certainly leaned towards that as the dominant instrument. So most albums in this group will have that as a focal point, but not all. Covered in these lots will be plenty of, Bop, Contemporary, Space Age, Easy Listening, Vocalist, Bossa Nova, Classical, Ragtime etc..
Artists like Nancy Wilson, Johnny Mathis, Nat King Cole, George Shearing, Les Baxter, Martin Denny, Keith Jarrett, Antonio Carlos Jobim, 101 Strings, Living Strings, and similar contemporaries, photos shown in listing indicate actual LP's from collection that will be pulled from.
What won't be in here? MILES DAVIS or JOHN COLTRANE. Of course, Jazz can be equal parts overwhelmingly diverse, but also expensive. In these lots there will be no gold treasure, no original Coltrane's, no rare Blue Notes/Prestige/Impulse/etc, etc.. This is not intended to be bought to make profit..
This is a nice way to dip your toes in some unfamiliar waters, without having to break the bank. Vinyl is getting out of hand expensive, certain genre's much more so than others. While some have seen their price point bottom out to all time lows. This may be due to many factors, but surely most buyers don't want to "Explore" new music that they may, or may not enjoy, especially if it's too expensive to risk not enjoying.
The idea of this offering is to afford the option of trying out some new music without breaking the bank. These albums will be chosen at random, like I said, I'm not an expert on the genre so I'm just trying to not pull from the same artists on an individual order. These will be NICE CLEAN PLAYABLE ALBUMS
, this is NOT
a means to dump off BEAT UP SCRATCHED UP JUNK.
Whether you enjoy the music or think it's 'worth it', will be up to you, but you should not feel cheated like someone tried to dump garbage copies on your doorstep. There may be the occasional VG, but usually that's because I believe it should still be an enjoyable listen and worth sharing. This should be typically VG+/EX nice clean examples.
These records are visually graded, and NOT cleaned before shipping. They Should ALL
be cleaned prior to playback the first time, even though visually they may look spotless. All used vinyl should be given a cleaning upon arrival, in my opinion.
Record jackets will vary in condition, and less attention is paid to this aspect. Nothing demonstrable or destroyed, water damaged or anything over the top, there will however on some be splits on the seams/spine, some tape repairs (he was fond of neat touch ups, sometimes excessively so though), some writing on the covers names/date/etc. These records will be shipped in an Inner Sleeve, INSIDE THE Jacket.
Shipping rates continue rise and so do materials. I'm trying my best to keep the shipping prices charged at exactly what I pay, but these costs are real, and take a decent chunk from earnings.
