Musical Instruments & Gear / Vintage Musical Instruments / Vintage Guitars & Basses / Lap & Steel Guitars
This is a 1938 Roy Smeck Recording King lap steel in its original hard case. While the case shows significant signs of wear, the guitar is in remarkably good shape given its age. There are a few small scratches and dings on the body, and there is a very shallow crack in the heel which doesn't appear to go any deeper than the finish. There is a mild hum when plugged into an amp, but this can be resolved by turning down the left tone knob (which results in a particularly beautiful tone) or using a hum debugger. I'm not an expert in these instruments, but as far as I can tell, all parts are original and are in great condition. I am happy to answer any questions to the best of my ability, and I am open to offers/negotiation.
